The Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of São João del-Rei (PPEDU/Â鶹ÊÓƵ) is recognized by CAPES with a score of 4, which attests to its academic and scientific quality in training master’s students. Created in 2008 and linked to the Department of Education Sciences (DECED), the program offers an in-person master's degree course lasting between 12 and 24 months. It requires the completion of 24 credits, a teaching internship, qualification, and defense of a dissertation. Its research covers educational practices in both school and non-school contexts, aiming to train teachers and researchers committed to social transformation and the development of national and regional education.
With a concentration area in Education, PPEDU is structured into two research lines: "Education and Languages" and "Culture, Education and Sciences", addressing topics such as language, art, science, subjectivity, and teacher training. The program’s mission is to promote a critical and investigative education for professionals capable of understanding and acting in various educational realities, while valuing principles such as diversity, inclusion, ethics, and academic excellence. Graduates of the program are prepared to work competently in both research and teaching, contributing to knowledge production and the improvement of Basic and Higher Education.
